Character Ed Theme – Accomplishment

Ø Panthers Got Talent is underway on Monday, May 13th! A google form will be sent to 5th-8th grader students.  Tryouts are after school today (May, 1st)

Ø Beta Club is hosting a cereal box drive for the Millstadt Food pantry April 29 - May 5. The class at each campus that has the most number of cereal boxes at the end of the week will win a donut party.  Beta students will be collecting each morning at MCS and each study hall time at MPC that week.  Thank you! –Mrs. Rasmussen

Ø 7th & 8th Grade Students-If you want to sign up for the field day volleyball tournament on May 10th, sign-up sheet is in the gym.

Ø Student Council is hosting its last dance of the year next Friday, May 3rd from 7-9 for 6th -8th grade and an extra hour 9-10 for 8th graders. Food will be provided the last hour for 8th grade. There will be a photo booth and the same amazing DJ. Come celebrate with us at the Firecracker Frolic!  (Red, White, and Blue theme) Admission is $5. Permission slips will be available next week. 

Ø Flag tryouts will be on Thursday 5/2 and Friday 5/3 after school in the gym from 3:30-4:30 

Ø BLOOD DRIVE on May 29th – In memory of Shane Toenjes at St James Catholic Church (412 W. Washington Ave, Millstadt) from 3:00pm to 8:00pm.  If you are able, please donate!  Please call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767 or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter MILLSTADT to schedule an appointment.) Ø At the regional track meet yesterday we had a lot of student- athletes qualify for state against some really tough competition. The girls team placed 3rd in the regional and the boys are regional champs!!! Way to go Panthers!!! 

The  following girls qualified for state- Annabelle Brunner in the high jump, Claire Emig in the shot put, Ella Weaver in the Shot Put, Callie Capell in the pole vault and also broke school record, Mylee Davis in the 400 meter and 200 meter dash, Lainey Capell in the 100m and 200m dash, And the 4x 400 meter relay which included Mikah Davis, Alyssa Sternau, Lucy Senezyn, and Mylee Davis. 

 

The following boys qualified for state: 

Jamos Clay in shot put, Noah Thomason in the long jump, and who also broke school record again. Cooper Bilbruck in the pole vault, also setting a new school record, Kalind Hendricks in the hurdles, and 200m dash, Boys 7th grade 4x 200 relay which included Micah Pitre, Cooper Bilbruck, Talon Alberter, and Reese Merhtens Boys 4x 100 relay team which included Mark Burton, Kalind Hendricks, Luke Schmidt, and Noah Thomason as well as breaking the school record. Easton Blair in the mile and 800 meter run, Noah Thomason in the 100m and 200m dash as well as breaking the 200m school record,  And the 4x 400 meter relay which included Grayson Leiber, Riley Szarek, Micah Pitre, and Easton Blair and who also broke school record! 

 

Congratulations to all for a valiant effort yesterday! 

 

Track Coaches also wanted to give a shout out to the team for showing kindness and compassion  to a war vet yesterday who was waiting in line behind our team when getting food. The team took it upon themselves without a coach saying something to let the gentleman and his wife go in front of the line before them. Thank you for representing your school, community, and families so well yesterday!
