Character Ed Theme – Respect

Ø  The Yearbook Club is hosting a yearbook sales competition. The homeroom with the highest percentage of sales by October 15th wins a pizza party. If there is a tie, then the pizza party will go to the class that has the highest percentage of add-ons such as personalization.

Ø  Sign-ups for wrestling, basketball, and cheerleading tryouts are in the gym!

Ø  Girls on the Run (GOTR)  Practice starts September 19^th

Ø  Save the Date on October 3^rd.  The Illinois Judges association will be making a presentation regarding “Worries of the Worldwide Web” at 6:00 pm in the MCS gym.

A huge thank you to all of the teachers who donated their time to help with Family Reading Night, Mrs. Notle, Mrs. Goddard, Mrs. Paisley, Mrs. Bateman, Mrs. White, Mrs. Buss, Mrs. Hauss, Mrs. Holmes, Mrs. Wilson, Miss Twellman, Mrs. Hogg, Mrs. Wolfbrandt, Mrs. Jany, Miss Armington, Miss Marlin, Mrs. Weaver, Mrs. Thomas, Mrs. Wegener, Mrs. Wicklein, and Mrs. Weyant. Family Reading Night would not be possible without all of you!! 

Thank you to Mr. Heeg and Mrs. Rassmussen for setting up the Poetry Cafe, Mrs. Wilson for bringing the therapy dogs, Fantasy Books Inc and PTA for their support, and Boy Scouts for setting up the tents. And a huge thank you to Mrs. Horvath, Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Donelson and Mrs. Weiler for ALL they do to put the night together! They are an amazing team!!

Over 325 students attended. Students had a great time!! We look forward to seeing everyone next year. 

Mrs. Heggemeier will send out a list later today to MCS teachers of students who won attendance prizes. Those students can come by her room this morning to choose a book.  

Also a huge thank you to the custodial staff for all they do and to Mrs. Pegg and Mr.Emge for the donation from the principal's fund..
