Character Ed Theme – Responsibility
-Yearbook Sales Contest News: Mrs. Obermeier's 7th grade class and Mr. Heeg's 6th grade class are currently tied for 1st place with 64% and Mrs. Sangiolo's 5th grade class is close behind with 63%. Remember, the class with the highest percentage of yearbooks sold by October 15th wins a pizza party, order those yearbooks soon!
-Year Book Cover Contest: Attention 8th Graders... Yearbook Cover Contest designs are due to Mrs. Fischer by Friday October 11th to be voted on by teachers and staff. See Mrs. Fischer for any questions.
-Open Gym: 7th or 8th grade boys trying out for basketball can attend optional open gyms on Wednesday (10/9) at 5:30. Boys can come down and get a handout from Mr. Bilbruck that has times on it.
-Math Team News: Attention 7th and 8th Graders! Math Team will have practice on Monday (10/07) during lunch recess and next Thursday morning (10/10) at 7:30 a.m. This is in preparation for a contest at Belleville West on Saturday, Oct. 19th at 9:00 AM. -Hat Day: 4th grade is sponsoring a Hat Day on October 11. The proceeds will be donated to the VFW at the Veterans Day Assembly. Please bring a donation of $1 to wear a hat.
-Chess Team News: MCS students in grades 6th-8th who are interested in joining the chess team need to sign-up by filling out the Chess Team Form. This form was sent via TeacherEase by Mrs. Nolte.
-VFW Patriot’s Pen: Teachers will be getting information/entry form on this year’s VFW contest the week of October 7th to hand out to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Entries are due by October 18th
-Lunch Change: Please note that Tuesday’s lunch is now Popcorn Chicken (10/8)
-Band Concert: We have a band concert on Wednesday (10/9) at 9:00am in the MCS gym. We can begin seating at 8:45. I look forward to seeing everyone together again! Sandi Pegg

Sr Band & 5th Grade Band: If you would like to help set up for the concert, please come to the band room after you eat lunch on (10/8)
TJ Pizza fundraising orders are due on Tuesday, October 15th.
Cross Country News: Yesterday our boys and girls team’s ran at the Red Bid invite. Our boys team finished first overall with the following finishing in the top 15:
Myles Kurfman placed 4th, Vance Wess placed 5th,Thomas Bauer placed 7th, Cannon Mundelein placed 10th, Alex Hogg placed 11th, Keegan Hauck placed 12th, and Conner Branum placed 15th. Well done boys! The girls also ran a great race and we had two finish in the top 15. Tilly Segraves placed 2nd and Taylor Rule placed 12th. Congrats ladies.
Good luck to the varsity runners who will run tomorrow in Waterloo for regionals!
