Character Ed Theme – Responsibility

-VFW Patriot’s Pen:  Please remind students to turn entries in today.  I will accept them, until they are picked up.

Math Team News: Some members of the math team competed this weekend at the 32nd Annual Math Contest at Belleville West along with 9 other schools. There was quite a bit more competition this year compared to the last few years. 

     Representing the 8th grade were Myles Kurfman, Riley Weems, Spring Froese, Sadie Dube, and Violet Aplin. Riley tied for third place but lost the position due to a tie-breaker so she received an Honorable Mention for her fine score. Myles captured 1st place Medal! The eighth grade team brought home the 3rd place trophy for their combined scores!

     Our  7th grade representatives included Conner Branum, Reagan Witt, Brooke Scharringhausen and Nellie Muskopf. Conner was awarded an Honorable Mention for his score while Reagan missed the award by 1 point. All contestants did a great job! 

     Myles and Conner competed in a high pressure 2-person speed round while all other members worked on a 10-person team test. Both of these components of the contest are quite difficult. The 7 members of our team that competed in the 10-person team test won the 1st Place Plaque! 

     Ms. Glaeser is so proud and appreciative of this hard-working group of students and their fantastic performance!  Thanks for making MCS proud!

Cross Country News:  The boys cross country team and girl individuals that qualified ran Saturday at the state meet in Duquoin. All ran hard and finished the season strong. Special shout out to Tilly Segraves who medaled and placed 7th out of all!

Thank you to all for an enjoyable season, and for all the hard work you put into it! So proud of you all.  Uniforms can be turned into Coach Keeley by the end of this week.  (10/25)

Ghost Grams: Student Council will once again be selling Ghost Grams. You may send a spooky special message to a friend or treat yourself for $1. This will include a message and a ring pop. They will be on sale starting next Wednesday, Oct. 23 - Oct. 29. Buy them during lunch hours at MCS and in the morning at MPC. Thank you!! 

Hurricane Relief:  Hurricane Relief donations are due by October 29th.  Please leave in your classroom and Beta Club members will pick up.  Teachers also have a copy of items that are needed or you can find a copy of the flyer in the Virtual Backpack on the school website. Hurricane Relief Flyer

The LiveSchool rewards store has a new look -- and a new location! Starting today (10/21), anyone that wants to shop will do so during their lunch time. You must finish your lunch and wait to be released to come up to the new shop set up in the cafeteria. Teachers, please be sure to review the LiveSchool message that was sent out on Friday afternoon. 

Our first assembly to celebrate all of the ways our school earned LiveSchool points throughout Quarter 1 will be on Halloween morning at 8:40am (10/31) before we head outside for the Primary Center's parade at 9:00am.
